This fully washed coffee comes from the Konga Sede washing station, which is owned and operated by Frehiwot and Gisaw Mekonnen, a husband-and-wife team based in Konga, Yirgacheffe district.
Ky Kebero is an exceptionally balanced coffee, expect notes of bourbon biscuits, smoothness of raspberry jam and aroma of rose water. We highly recommend it as espresso, preparing it with milk brings out its buttery biscuity flavours and raspberry jam sweetness. Brewing this coffee on V60 gives us beautiful aroma of rose water.
The coffee is named in honour of the Ethiopian Wolf, also known as the Simien Fox or Red Jackal, referred to as Ky kebero in Amharic. As Africa's most endangered carnivore, the Ethiopian wolf is one of the rarest canid species in the world, with fewer than 500 individuals remaining in the wild. The largest population, numbering around 150, resides in the Bale Mountains, located west of Yirgacheffe.
