Marcelo and his family's farm in Nova Resende, Minas Gerais is unlike many of their neighbour's. They have always sought to do what they felt was right when growing coffee - from using solar panels, and opting for organic practices by covering crops and caring for the soil in the hope that it too cares for them with great coffee. They are the largest contributor to the Especialíssimo program (est. 2016), which gives its smallholder producers opportunities to undertake training & lectures, and gain professional qualifications.
